Halloween Dress-Up

When we arrived in school we saw people dressed up in their Hallowe'en costumes. The whole yard was lovely with unique, interesting creations and colours. We like dress-up day because everyone is so creative and unique. It is a chance to be ourselves and use our imagination.

Spooky Eyeballs

We had great fun today baking. Coconut Burfi is a traditional Indian sweet treat made with coconut, milk and sugar. It is also a spooky looking eyeball!!

Super Science

Super Science Super Milk   We used two everyday ingredients to illustrate how Avonmore Super Milk can be transformed from a liquid to a solid bone like structure.  When an acid such as vinegar is added to milk it causes a chemical reaction. This chemical reaction causes the protein molecules in the milk to clump together to form white lumps called curd and the liquid is called whey. When the whey is drained off, the curd can be pressed, dried and moulded into a solid bone like structure. Did you know?  Calcium is essential to build strong bones and teeth early in life and Vitamin D is just as important, since without it, we can’t absorb the calcium! Avonmore Super Milk is a rich source of Vitamin D and just one 250ml glass has 100% of the EU recommended daily intake. Did you know an adult has 206 bones in their body and young babies are born with over 300 bones? Calcium is very important for growing bones, if you don't eat enough your body will take it from your bones.

Online Safety

We love using the iPads in class to assess our knowledge of how to stay safe online.  Take  a look at our Online Usage Agreement:  I will always ask permission before I use the internet at home.  I will not send personal information about me or my family to anyone whom I encounter online without my parent's/guardian's permission (including names, pictures, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, names of sports clubs and schools), regardless of how nice and fun this person seems.  I will tell my parents/guardians or teachers about any upsetting or frightening material I find online.  I will share all the fun material I find online with my parents/guardians.  I will keep my password a secret.I will not even tell my best friend.  I will not meet, in person, anyone I meet online unless my parents/guardians are with me.  I will treat others online the same way as I would like to be treated.  I will follow these rules regardless of where I am online.
