Rugby Coach Visits Ardrahan N.S

The children in Third and Fourth Class enjoyed learning to play rugby with Walter every Friday for 6 weeks. We learned many skills from Walter; including how to run with the ball, how to catch the ball, throwing the ball and working as a team to win a try! We look forward to improving the skills during the year!

Concern Debating Competition

In a recent virtual showdown organised by the charity Concern and facilitated by the Galway Education Centre, our school's debate team took centre stage to tackle the motion, "Homework is a thing of the past." Well done to the the team who  have been very busy over the last number of weeks researching, preparing and practising for the debate.  They argued that homework not only reinforces classroom learning but also fosters discipline, time management, and a sense of responsibility among students. Throughout the debate, our speakers engaged in a lively exchange with their counterparts who supported the motion.  The Galway Education Centre commended both teams for their spirited arguments, highlighting the importance of such debates.   We wish Briarhill National School's Fifth Class the very best of luck going forward in the competition!
