During the month of September, we learned about the Children of Lir in History. The story is set in Ireland long ago. The main characters are King Lir, his four children Fionnuala, Con, Aodh and Fiachra and their evil step mother Aoife. There is also lots of magic in this story. We also discovered the meaning of legends, and brainstormed other examples of Irish mythical tales. We created some very eye-catching artwork which has got lots of compliments from other teachers! We painted the background using cool colours, and made swans for the top using tin foil.
Grandparents' Day was a truly special occasion at our school, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. The children were thrilled to share their classrooms and activities with their grandparents, who brought such warmth and joy to the day. A huge thank you to all the parents who contributed the delicious baked goods—it was a real treat for everyone and added to the festive atmosphere. It was heartwarming to see generations coming together and celebrating the importance of family. We are so grateful for the wonderful community spirit that made the day such a success!
